Frequently Asked Questions
Will the new JPJePlate number plates be mandatory to all FEV car owners during the launch?
No, the use of the new JPJePlate number plates will be compulsory only for all new FEV car owners including Hydrogen car owners. Hybrid cars are not included during the first roll out.
When will this requirement come into effect?
The compulsory use of the new JPJePlate number plate for the new FEV car owners will be enforced from the (launch date: TBC) onwards.
Do existing FEV owners need to switch to the new FEV number plates immediately?
Existing FEV owners are not required to switch immediately, but they will have a transition period to convert to the new FEV number plate. Keep an eye out for announcements from MOT (Ministry of Transport) & JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan) Malaysia regarding the timeline
